Association for Social Health in India, established in 1987, is a registered premier Non-Government Organization that devoted for upliftment of distressed, downtrodden and destitute women through institutional services like Short Stay Home, De-Addiction Centre for Drugs & Alcoholics etc.The Short-Stay Home for women, NIRMAL ASHRAY was started in 1987 under the scheme of Ministry of Social Welfare, Govt. of India at Guwahati, Narengi, Yuva Nivas Santha Campus, which is 30 bedded. The Home being the first and only one of its kind in the state is providing shelter to women in distress, moral danger, victim of exploitation and destitute. A Creche centre of Rajiv Gandhi National Creche scheme was started in January 2007 attached to the short stay home Nirmal Ashray under assistance of Assam State Social Welfare Board. The children of the inmates of Nirmal Ashray as well as those of the working mothers of the locality are getting the services of day care, health, nutrition in the centre. We are also running a residential Drug De-addiction centre named NAVAJIVAN established in July 2000 at Guwahati, Beltola (Sourav Nagar) under the scheme of Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. The centre is 15 bedded, managed by qualified Medical Officers, assisted by trained Counselor, Psychologist and other trained co-workers.
