Mumbai, November 24, 2023: Deloitte India observed its 21st annual Impact Day, a culmination of year-long volunteering efforts driven by volunteers across all career levels and professional domains. Over 55,000 Deloitte India volunteers drove community skill and environmental projects, virtually and on-site, impacting 400,000+ individuals across 500+ locations.

Volunteer project leaders collaborated with internal teams and non-profit organizations to plan day-long programs, selecting causes they are committed to. Volunteer team members devoted one working day to projects aligned with their interests, aiming to make a meaningful impact.

“Impact Day has evolved to become one of our most enduring traditions. Firstly, most of the projects are aligned with our world-wide priorities of education and skill-building, as well as mitigating factors leading to climate change. Secondly and importantly, it’s one of the core elements of our talent experience. Amongst volunteers, Impact Day provides a platform where empathy can be translated to involvement and potentially a meaningful long-term commitment to deserving causes,”said PN Sudarshan, Partner and Corporate Responsibility Leader, Deloitte India. “We encourage that by enabling our people to set aside up to 20 working hours a year for suchendeavours, over and above Impact Day,” he added.

“Impact Day is one of the ways to demonstrate our commitment of making an impact that trulymatters. Each year, our professionals volunteer with several non-profits on this day, with a collective goal to drive positive change in our local communities” said Kent Francois, Regional Managing Principal, Deloitte LLP.

Impact Day aims to provide volunteers with a broader world view, develop leadership and organizational skills, and foster empathy in dealing with diverse groups and their unique needs. The initiative contributes to volunteers building well-rounded careers driven by a strong sense of purpose as they lay the foundations for their future.
