The ARISE - (Assistance for Residency: Investing in Social Work Education) Scholarship aims to support second-year Masters students pursuing degrees in the domain of social sciences (Social Work, Public Health, Development Studies, Social Entrepreneurship, Rural Development, others) and provides financial assistance specifically for outstation candidates to cover hostel/mess fees.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required

Eligibility:

  • Open to students enrolled in the second year of a full-time Master in Social Science Domains in Tier 1 cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata)
  • Must be an outstation candidate residing outside the city limits of the cities above.
  • Demonstrate financial need through documented proof of income and family background.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 6 across the first two semesters.
  • Show active involvement in community service or social work activities.

Benefits:

The applicants selected for the scholarship will receive a one-time scholarship amount of INR 25,000 towards hostel/mess expenses.

  • One reference/letter of recommendation from the faculty (Sent via email/hard copy)
  • Domicile certificate of residence
  • Family income certificate (Issued by Tehsildar or equivalent)
  • Statement of purpose (SOP), describing motivation to apply for the scholarship (Language no barrier, can be a video/audio/written SOP)
