Yuva Rangmanch

With Some young artistes trained in NSD workshop held in Ranchi in 1981 along with some unemployed youths, hailing from tribal and backward areas and some engineers, journalists, teachers and industrial workers, Ajai Malkani along with Mr. Avinash Singh, Bipin Kumar etc. formed Yuva Rangmanch, with an aim to motivate common people through theatre and other cultural activities, ascertaining their active participation to bring about a change for the betterment of the society. , , The group has organized 40 Theatre workshops in the tribal region and has trained about 450 budding talents and has successfully given a scientific direction to the theatre movement in Jharkhand. The group has staged 350 shows of almost 40 plays inspiring both rural and urban youth. The group has staged two plays namely ULGULAN KA ANT NAHI (Based on India s Freedom struggle by Tribals against British Rule) and Kya Choot Raha hai (A Social and Philosophical manifestations) in Bharat Rang Mahotsav in the year 2001 and 2002 organized by national school of Drama (NSD) New Delhi. , , Besides founder director Ajai Malkani the group consists of Theatre professionals from NSD, BNA Lucknow and Department of Indian Theatre, Punjab University , Yuva Rangmanch , besides being actively engaged in experimental innovation in modern Indian theatre, research and training , is also conducting experimentation and presentation of fine arts classical Kathak and folk dances in association with Haren Thakur , Subir Das ,Beena Tripathy ,Ankita Chakraborty, Gargi Malkani.and Malobika Mukherjee. , , Recently our Classical Kathak and Folk Dances have performed in 34th National Games organized at Khel Goan, Ranchi in the month of Feb 2011.
