AIDS Prevention and Control Project (APAC) of Voluntary Health Services, Chennai, under the sponsorship of USAID is conducting a six-month District Level Communication campaign on HIV/AIDS (DLCC) in Salem District. The goal of campaign is to increase awareness on HIV/ AIDS/ STI and to promote Integrated Counseling and Testing (ICT) in Salem District. , , Envisaging community based care and support for Youth and Children affected and infected with HIV/ AIDS through home based care, medical, legal, psycho social and educational support, foster care, life skill education etc., (Bridges Project funded by US AID/ FHI/ IMPACT/PCI India) on sustainability , , Reducing the HIV related morbidity and mortality by providing routine medical care, ART and Nutrition support for Youth and Children and family of HIV/ AIDS. (Tamilnadu Family Care Continuum Project funded by CIFF/ TAN SACS) On govt. hospital site and in all the 20 blocks of Salem. , , Comprehensive care and support (CCS) Project for HIV infected and affected children and youth funded by CHRISTIAN AID UK. The project in which the needs such as educational support, psycho social and medical needs of identified children were provided on Need basis. , Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) is done for all the blocks of Salem district for Advocacy, communication and social mobilization (ACSM) in 2010, with support of Tuberculosis department of Salem Govt. Hospital
