WRITERS FORUM IMPHAL

The Writers Forum Imphal is one of the five Literary Organisation recognized by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi(National Academy of Letters ) in Manipuri Language.It was established on September3,1998 and registerd under Manipur Societies Registration Act,1989. Regd. No. 2121 of1990 , Most of the literary figures in Manipur are its members. , It has published 132 books. Many of the books won Sahitya Akademi Awards, Translation Prizes,State Kala Akademi Awards, Manipur State Award for literature(instityted by Govt. of Manipur). Its books also won many prestigious awards given by various literary organizatios viz. Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Cultural Forum, Manipur, Naharol Sahitya Premee Samiti etc. , Forum organized various national and state level Seminars, workshops,Symposiums, in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi, National Book Trust, CIIL, Mysore, Eastern Regional Language Centre, Bhubaneshwor,Federation of Indian Publishersetc. for the developement of Manipuri Literature & Culture,language, Tribal dialects, Book publication etc.from time to time. , It published its quarterly literary journal- Sahityagi Pao- with RNI No.00273/04 and ISSN 2278-9006 since 1990. , It also instituted an award - Khundongbam Brojendro Ningshing Mana- in recognition of works by playwrights.
