Special features of the organization

ACTIVITIES : , HEALTH PROGRAMME , Wet has conducted medical camps and supplied medical equipments to the hospitals. So far a total of 15000 people have benefitted through the medical camps. Besides 164 Chronic cases were referred to Government Hospitals. Apart from this, awareness on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Waterborne diseases have been conducted regularly. , AWARENESS ON ENVIRONMENT , Village people were organized for de-silting tanks. Awareness programmes on tree plantation, usage of plastics, rain water harvesting, solid waste management, etc have been conducted by WET. , COACHING CLASS FOR CHILDREN , A total of 120 poor children whose parents are not educated, children from 1st standard to 12th standard have been given special coaching in the evenings. As a result our students are obtaining good marks in the examinations. , OLD AGE HOME , Women Empowerment Trust has been running Oldage Home Centre at Trichy providing food, shelter and medical facilities to the elderly persons. , SUPPLY OF MILCH ANIMALS , Initially Milch animals were supplied to 10 women to the tune of Rupees One lakh, now they have been repaying on a revolving basis to be beneficial to other women. In that way till date 30 women have been benefitted till today. , MICRO CREDIT PROGRAMME , Arrangements are made by WET for direct loans to SHG members. United Bank of India, Trichy-1, IOB, Chinthamani, Trichy-2 and Syndicate Bank, Koothur have been made to extend loans to SHGs. So far 30 poor women were given loans to the tune of Rupees Sixty Lakhs. All the women who obtained loan have been regularly repaying their dues.
