Special features of the organization

In its two decades of work in the region, WISA has formulated management action plans for 11 wetlands, majority of which are designated as Wetlands of International Importance under Ramsar Convention, Capacity building of wetland managers has been a major emphasis of work, through delivery of structured training programmes. Baseline inventories and assessments, developed for key wetlands in the region have enabled systematic monitoring and ecosystem health reporting.
