Special features of the organization
1. Women Rights Promotion and Protection in the State of Kerala: , To develop women in Kerala to involve in the issues of women and develop them to work for the protection of their rights, by strengthening state and district level coordination committees formed a state level women piloted women organization with the name WOMENS VOICE, consisting 6000 members having fourteen district level coordination committees. , To protect the rights of house wives in the state, helped WOMENS VOICE to mobilize house wives and formed National House Wives Association consisting 4866 members. , Focusing on mobilizing women in unorganized sector, formed district level apex bodies in 14 districts. , Organizes facilitation programs on women friendly Acts and Laws. , Functions as Service Providing Center and counseling center with the assistance of Kerala State Social Welfare Board. , Provides legal advices and support to the needy through the legal center. , Runs a women resource center as part of information dissemination. , 2. Strengthening the livelihood aspects of the tribal in Wayanad through FRA: , This was a project to promote the tribal communities to advocate for the effective implementation of The Forest Rights Act enacted by Indian Parliament. Through this project submitted claim forms and helped the tribal to get minimum land as per the Act. Organized facilitation programs on Tribal friendly Acts and Laws. , 3. Jalanidhi: , Through Jalanidhi project supported by Kerala Rural Water and Sanitation Agency the organization supported a grama panchayath in Wayanad to provide safe drinking water to the rural people. , 4. Watershed Development Program: , To enable the community to protect the soil, water and biomass the organization facilitated a grama panchayath in Wayand through people centered watershed development programs with the assistance of NABARD. , 5. Facilitation of Agricultural Regeneration Measures: , The organization implemented this project in 4 grama panchayaths and one municipality in Wayanad by facilitating agricultural regeneration measures though the promotion of organic farming, micro plan preparation, marketing outlets, Be -Friending services and facilitation programs. , 6. Self Help Groups: , To develop the bargaining capacity and economic independence of rural women, promoted 105 women self help groups consisting 11000 members. Provided skill development trainings on different trades, initiated 198 Income Generation Units linking with banks. Provided Revolving funds to initiate IGPs. , 7. Sustainable development of tribal and marginalized farmers: , To promote sustainable development of tribal and marginalized farmers based on their wisdom and traditions, implemented this project in Wayanad district through facilitation programs, collection and mobile exhibition of local variety seeds, organic farming and promotion of community seed banks. Through System of Rice Intensification promoted low cost paddy cultivation in 10 panchayaths of Wayanad district. , 8. Research and Studies: , The organization published study and reference materials on various subjects covering socio-economic, agricultural, environmental and cultural aspects of society. , 9. Advocacy and lobbying: , The organization does Advocacy and lobbying with different government agencies for the effective implementation of women, tribal, farmer, child and environment friendly Acts, Laws and Policies. Networking with different regional, national and international social development agencies for the betterment of the society.
