VISHWA JEEVAN SEVA SANGHA (VJSS) is proud to be a contributor to Indias development, particularly in backward areas in Orissa. Our activities have been aimed to uplift the quality of lives from darkness of those people of orissa, especially for those deprived people who belong to scheduled caste and scheduled tribes, living below the poverty line. Our tasks have been finding out the neediest people, giving emphasis to the vulnerable mothers & their children for the prupose to act in accordance with their need and to build up their capacity by clubbing their activities with the integrated process of comprehensive social development. Our approach to development is a bottom-up approach, where the community people get scope to participate in the decision making process. VJSS has always given emphasis to initiate need based programme by the optimum utilization of local resources. Our activities have been multifarious, comprised of raising social awareness on different issues, which have been affecting the human life, covering the community health and child education with appropriate social action as well as livelihood assistance to the disadvantaged and vulnerable people. We have our interventions on many other areas like womens development programmes along with gender issues, training programme of development workers, environment protection and social forestry, drug de-addiction,HIV/AIDS prevention programmes, supporting the disabled and helpless aged etc. VJSS has been successful in establishing good relationship with rural people to interact, share information and mobilize available resources for the poor and marginalized people in our operational area in Orissa, which we consider as the most important achivement of our organisation.
