About the organization

Special features of the organization

Our organisation is working with the object of providing services to underprivileged. The briefs of each activity are given below , 1. NURSERY : With a view to provide facility of pre school education to the children from the families of lower income group this activity was started in 1989. , 2. FREE NEWSPAPER LIBRARY : This activity was introduced in 1990 taking into consideration demand of the people who can not afford to buy the newspapers. , 3. GENERAL LIBRARY : This activity was introduced in the year 1992 taking into consideration the demand from the readers for books of various types. There are 2913 books on different subjects. , 4. SUBSIDISED COMPUTER TRAINING CENTRE : With a view to provide the Computer education for the students from lower income group at a subsidised rates, Computer Training Centre was set up in the year 1994. , 5. AMBULANCE SERVICE : This service was initiated in the year 1994 with a view to provide day and night services to people in need. , 6. KIDS LIBRARY : With a view to create interest for reading among kids at an early age this activity was introduced in the year 1994. , 7. TUITION CLASSES : It was set up in 1999 to provide additional training apart from that taught in schools for the students from economically backward families. , 8. TYPING INSTITUTE : This activity was initiated in the year 1999 with a view to provide training to the students from the lower income groups so as to equip them with an additional qualification which could be of benefit to them while seeking employment. , 9. HEALTH CLUB : With a view to motivate the majority of youths of the slum area to keep themselves fit through physical excercise and to provide opportunity for physical excercise at the subsidised rate we have started this activity from June 2002. , 10. AIDS PREVENTION PROGRAMME FOR COMMERCIAL SEX WORKERS viz. DISHA : With a view to provide various facilities to CSWs, to motivate them for safer sexual practices, to train them for correct use of condoms, forming their Self Help Group to solve their problems, to prevent our society as a whole from HIV AIDS, we have started AIDS Prevention Project for CSWs from June 2002 with the support of Mumbai Districts AIDS Control Society. , 11. AIDS PREVENTION PROGRAMME FOR BAR GIRLS viz. AASTHA : With a view to prevent infection of STI, HIV AIDS among Bar girls we have undertaken AIDS Prevention Project for Bar girls viz. AASTHA Project in the area from Ghatkopar to Mulund in collaboration with Family Health International and SOSVA since March 2005. , 12. PREVENTION OF PARENT TO CHILD TRANSMISSION OF HIV AIDS PROGRAMME viz. KIRAN, ANKUR, UDAY : We have taken initiative to undertake Project for Prevention of Parents to Child Transmission of HIV AIDS viz. KIRAN, ANKUR, UDAY Project in Kurla, Ghatkopar, Mulund area in collaboration with Mumbai Districts AIDS Control Society since January 2006.
