The genesis of UPWAN was to help those who are the most vulnerable (Rural poor, , women, etc.) and are in urgent need of help. So we organized ourselves in the movement towards the above cause and consequently articulated the aims and objectives we had in our mind. , From very beginning, we, at UPWAN , believe that development has to be holistic, to bring real fruits to the most needy. In this connection, we worked in the area of - , , 1. Livelihood, , 2. Skill Development , 3. Capacity building , 4. Women Empowerment, , 5. Community Development and Social Welfare , , These areas continues to be prime areas of our work. , We have brought a substantial change on the ground by focusing our energies in these sectors as well as building our understanding about related issues. , , UPWAN s drive towards expanding employability of the youth of the area is bearing fruit now . , Women Empowerment , o Projects by UPWAN had been conducted to teach basic employment skills to women in rural villages. Training for their capacity building was included in the projects , women were trained in techniques of fund raising and leadership skills. , o Capacity Building of Women SHGs through Entrepreneurship Program was also done by us , Livelihood - , Livelihood opportunities have been provided by UPWAN through programs on - , Bamboo handicraft , Honey Bee keeping , Kashthkala Prashikshan , Trainings on Motor winding, Rajmistry Plumber, Computer and other approx. 3000 individuals are benefited , Capacity Building , Capacity building of SHGs in rural area of Chhattisgarh has been done through Sustainable Economic Upliftment Activities, Organizational development and Behavioral change . , Skill development Initiatives by UPWAN , Need base skill development through Vocational trainings in the field of Agriculture , ....have been conducted through UPWAN in all over Chhattisgarh
