Special features of the organization

The Anti-Tuberculosis work was started in 1929 in India through the organisation of the King George V Thanks-giving (Anti-Tuberculosis) Fund. This fund was administered in the beginning in association with the Indian Red Cross Society. It engaged itself in preventive, educative and propagating activities and also helped in establishing a number of clinics in various States and in training health visitors. It also organized post-graduate courses for general practitioners.
