Vimala Community Extension Centre Achievements , Vimala Community extension Centre was established in the year 1976 with the objectives of providing opportunities for students it realize important social problems, intervening in areas like women and children welfare through various programmes to fulfill this mandate ,the centre has been providing various services including vocational training, providing hostel facilities to girl students and women ,counselling services sponsorship programmes and addressing the problems of children in need of care and protection. , The present programmes of the centre include CHILDLINE nodal organization supported by ministry of Women and Child development, family Counselling Centre supported by Central Social welfare Board,service Providing Centre For DV Act2005 and children Sponsorship programme funded by the college and Corporate agencies. , Vimala Family Counselling Centre was established in 1998 December .In the last year from April to March 2016 The family Counselling Centre provided counselling in632 cases, In addition to this ,counsellors conduct awareness programmes ,seminars, sub committee meetings regularly. Cases are referred to psychologist and assistance of legal adviser also provided in issues of domestic violence. , CHILDLINE Nodal organization was started in 2002.Since then; the organisation has been intervening in child rights issues in the district. As the nodal organization, we could conduct training programmes for various allied systems like police, education.health .district administration, Panchyathi raj institution etc. advocacy initiatives, networking and research activities. , The centre supports 100 school children in the nearby communities for their studies. They are given financial support; counselling and mentoring services and awareness programmes on a regular basis. Service Providing Centre for DV Act2005 provides legal assistance to survivors of domestic violence free of cost.
