In 2015, Persistent advocacy undertaken by THP India in Karnataka and Bihar has yielded successful outcomes with the much needed policy reforms accomplished. In Karnataka, the Government has amendment section (46) in the Karnataka Panchayati Raj Act and introduced a full five year term for elected representatives (from an earlier 30 month tenure.) Similarly in Bihar, due to regular dialogue and engagement undertaken by THP and APARAJITA (EWR federation) the government has amended the Bihar Panchayati Raj Act by regularizing ward sabhas thus strengthening local democracy in the state
