Special features of the organization
Tamulpur Anchalik Gramdan Sangh is running a Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya with the aid of Khadi and Village Industries Commission since 22nd February 1971. It is catering to the training needs of the entire North East Region in Khadi and Village Industry sector. Young men and women from Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram and Meghalaya are making use of the facilities and trained in the various disciplines. Apart from the technical, know how in spinning, weaving, design weaving and processing they are trained for a disciplined life, which is highly helpful for the future life. All the trained are either employed in the institution, which deputed them or self employed, earning a reasonable income. , , The Vidyalaya is run on the concept of education with learning by doing and full involvement of learners. Theory and practice go simultaneously. Right from 4 am. to 9 p.m. the learners are fully engaged without wasting a single second. Every trainee is assigned specific responsibilities in the corporate life from cleaning to cooking. The mess is completely managed by the trainees and accounts are kept meticulously. Thus, the trainees learn home economics and management by practice. , , After completion of respective courses, the trainees achieved perfect skill in the trade technically and artistically. In fact, they are composing poems on fabrics and they make their lives a sweet and melodious poem. The Vidyalaya provides opportunities for developing their esthetic talents also. , , Many of the past trainees are now holding responsible position in Khadi & Village Industry institutions. Several others have started their own institutions to serve the community. In their own homes they have proved themselves as ideal sons, daughters, son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws and parents radiating happiness, contentment and harmony. , , The disciplined corporate life during training period in the Vidyalaya ranging from three months to one year is contributing a great deal towards their personality development, capacity building, conscientization, empowerment and sensitization on issues like gender equity, human rights and concerned for others. In conclusion, the trainees gain training for a perfect human being. , , The Vidyalaya is managed by a team of experts who are professionally qualified for the job with an efficient principal with managerial and administrative proficiency of excellence. , , With the aid of Khadi and Village Industries Commission on a very steady and systematic manner, following industries are carried on: , , 1.
