Tamil Nadu Board of Rural Development (TNBRD) , , The TNBRD implements various projects in Agri and allied fields for the upliftment of rural people mainly ryots. The Krishi Vigyan Kendras(KVK) run by TNBRD under the financial assistance of Indian Council of Agricultural Research,New Delhi viz., Vedapuri KVK in Thiruvannamalai district and Dr Perumal KVK in Krishnagiri distirct have been doing excellent works with major emphasis on technology transfer in agri and allied fields for the upliftment of rural people. , , The major programmes of the KVK include Front Line Demonstration, On Farm Testing, Short term training, Vocational training, Seminar and exposure visit. Till date more than 50000 famers have been benefitted through various programmes of aforesaid two KVKs. The beneficiary farmers have been running several agri business units and have become famous entrepreneurs. , The two seminars on food processing organized by TNBRD under the financial assistance of Ministry of Food Processing Industries have become eye openers for the establishment of various food processing units in Thiruvannamalai and Krishnagiri districts. Total number of 400 farmers had participated and benefitted. , , Under the various governmental schemes like RSVY, SGSY, IWDP, DPAP, NAWDPRA, MEDP, the Exposure visits have been organized to various agri and horticultural research stations and agricultural industries all over India for the technical awareness of the farmers, through which total number of 3500 farmers mainly youths have been benefitted. , , Under the National Agricultural Innovation Project, the sub project on farming system for livelihood security of small and marginal farmers in disadvantaged districts of Tamilnadu is being implemented in Thiruvannamalai and Villupuram districts in collaboration with faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University. More than 500 farmers and 600 landless labourers are benefitted through this project.
