TBAI is a national exclusively TB focused NGO based in Hyderabad working with a vision A TB free India . TBAI at present has its operations in Andhra Pradesh and Delhi. All our programs support Government run National TB program. In North Delhi, TBAI is running diagnostic facilities for TB (Tuberculosis Unit) in Burari, a slum area predominately a habitat of migrants. People living in the area are at high risk of developing TB and related diseases. Govt. health facilities in the area are nonexistent and people affected have to travel 12-15km to visit government health facility to get TB care. TBAI has been implementing this project with a mission to bring access to TB care and treatment through variety of awareness activities, active engagement of community leading to increased testing for TB. Project is supported by a corporate donor Eli Lilly MDR TB Partnership since April 2008. Project started in small way catering to 1 lakh population and is now serving 5 lakh. Community engagement is planned to Building Partnerships, Advocate and spread knowledge about TB quality service. Volunteers from the community are identified, motivated, trained and placed within the community who act as referral sources. Till date project had identified 2023 new TB cases and all of them are registered for treatment.264 volunteers are trained, working.
