Special features of the organization
State Resource Centre DEEPAYATAN is an autonomous organisation registered under the Societies registration act 1860 and has been functioning since 1978-79 basically in field of the literacy The major areas of intervation have been imparting Training to field innovoation functionaries, developing teaching learning materials, contducting action research, promotional activities, project formalutation, project appraisal and monitoring. , Since inception SRC-Deepayatan has close collaboration and partinership with several esteemed agencies/organizations of international and national repute such as UNICEF, UNESCO, BBC World Service Trust, UNFPA, DANIDA, DFID, BSACS, Mininary of Health & Family Welfare SLMA, etc. with a view to gaining wide spread exposure in social sector programmes including education, literacy, reproductive health, HIV and AIDS, Women & Child development etc. Thus, it has created enormous capabilities in extending its excellent academic and technical resource support in these areas. , Apart from regular annual grant of 100% received from Govt. of India for functioning as SRC for literacy, Deepayatan has been undertaking several projects of various organisations from time to time. , Deepayatan has a dedicated team of academicians with expertise in the field of training, Monitoring & evaluation, teaching learning material development and research etc. There is also a strong pool of Resource Persons i.e. trainers, artists, writers, activists avaialble at state and district levels. There is a strong liaisoning with various NGOs and Zila Saksharata Samities of 19 district of Bihar. Through the ZSSs we have direct access to the grass root functionaries from block to village levels in last three years. , NLMA has assigned some innovative tasks to undertake in order to give a big push to the pace and progress of Saakshar Bharat Programme especially in the operational jurisdiction of SRC. Altogether, 326 Panchayats spread over 17 blocks of 4 districts namely Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Kishanganj and East Champaran have been adopted by SRC-Deepayatan as per instruction of NLMA which is termed as Islands of Success. Under Saakshar Bharat/Annual Action Plan of SRC-Deepayatan, primarily focus is given to those areas. Special interventions are planned to accelerate the pace of implementation intending to achieve the desired goal in a stipulated timeframe. , Out of 326 LSKs running in Islands of Success, a few are to be chosen as model centres and special/innovative efforts are to be made therein. In Addition, in view of Inter Personal Media Campaign, lot of innovative efforts had been made in operational areas of SRC-Deepayatan to accelerate the academic activities so that the desired goal may be achieved in a short time span. Keeping in view Maulana Azad Taleem-E Baleegan Programme launched on 18th February, 2014 by the NLMA. SRC-Deepayatan extended its academic support in training to Madarsa representatives/teachers and volunteer teachers to run literacy classes among Muslims with special focus on women. SRC-Deepayatan had monitored the programme in all seven districts namely Purnea, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi and East Champaran adopted under MATBP: SRC-Deepayatan has been assigned the task to perform coordinative role in NIOS-Basic Literacy examination of learners since last three years.
