SPOORTHY ORGANIZATION FOR EDUCATION AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

SPOORTHY Organization for Education and Social Development is one of the registered voluntary organizations based in Davangere of Karnataka It aimed at strengthening the weaker section through education and social development since its inception in the year 2000 for the creation of just equitable humane and sustainable society SPOORTHY working with marginalized and vulnerable namely poor of the poorest landless small and marginal farmers minorities backward classes Dalit and reserved communities for socio economic change Over the last 16 years SPOORTHY have been striving to ensure quality changes in the area of right to education right to food and work poverty alleviation through sustainable livelihood and income generation activities community involvement in protection of natural resources promotion of women and child rights empowerment of Women through Livelihood Opportunities Rehabilitation of flood victims assessment of children learning promoting women participation in Grama Panchayat election Process Leadership Development among minority women The intervention significantly contributed to enhance socio economic status of poor women and marginalized section in Davangere Gadag Haveri Chitradurga and Bagalkot District in particular and rest of Karnataka in general
