The project works with female sex workers of Dibrugarh District. The project identifies women engaged in sex work and stress done works to raise their standard of living by promoting behaviour change; to provide treatment for STI and to explain the measures for preventing the spread. , Family Counselling Centre supported by Assam State Social Welfare Board: , The centre is provide active services in issues related to Domestic violence , on many women s issues arising from domestic abuse, family disturbed due to alcoholism, drug addiction etc. Services ranging from counseling, the centre also provides education and outreach, giving provisions, and mobilizing and organizing activism. The main goal continues to be to improve the relationship of each family member to the others, so that the family progressed as a harmonious unit. , Creche Centre supported by Assam State Social Welfare Board under Rajiv Gandhi National Cr che Scheme: , Total 100 children enrolled at the centres. Through this centres working women were specially benefited. Nutrition support also provide to the children. 8 nos. Ayas appointed in four centres. , SEWA KARMI self running progrmme : , Through this welfare programme SEWA will provide companion to old age people, aged person who lived without any family companion, sick people who needs a competent care giver. SEWA workers will provide support to these needy people not only companion but also Para medical support, psychological support, house keeping, maintain health records & coordinating, counseling, food preparation etc. , , Implementing Resettlement Plan supported by FREMAA Assistant General Secretary: , SEWA is engaged by Assam Integrated Flood and River Erosion Risk Mitigation Agency as consultant to implement the Resettlement Plan at Dibrugarh Sub Project Area, Some of the key roles and responsibilities of SEWA as implementing RP are : , Closely working with affected community and disseminate information to ensure correct and complete information is available to affected households, To undertake verification of census data. To take lead responsibility in planning and implementing the livelihood activities under the RP To ensure gender sensitivity and to safeguard interest of poor and marginalized. , , Disaster Preparedness Programme: , The curriculum for an awareness programme has been designed by SEWA, which is implemented in Dibrugarh urban and periphery villages, to equip the people to face and overcome natural disasters easily. , SEWA with the help of Dibrugarh Municipal Board would take up a massive awareness campaign through out the Municipal Board jurisdiction for preparedness through rallies, awareness meeting, different competitions like essay, debate, drawing etc. among SHGs members, school students, explaining Do s and Don ts of various disasters, showing the safe shelters and safe routes for evacuation, flood preparedness etc.
