About the organization

Special features of the organization

The organization is in Special Consultative Status with United Nations since 2013. It has formed 135 SHGs, constructed 186 watershed structures e.g pond, irrigation canal, implemented new sri rice growing technique in remote tribal villages, trained 125 women in trades like soft toys,tailoring,beauty parlour, enrolled 15 students with NIOS, worked on legal awreness in collaboration with DLSA,jamshedpur, organized gender sensitization prog for rural women,MYRADA module trng to SHGs , , The Jharkhand tribal development Program in collaboration with IFAD-JTDS and also supported by International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), UN s World Food Programme, Govt. of India and Govt. of Jharkhand, has many successful achievement in restraining the fangs of poverty and restoring social justice by implementing holistic approach to address the adverse social conditions in components like water, forest, land, human beings and livestock at grassroots level. The sole objective of Jharkhand Tribal Development Programme is the formalization of Gram Sabha, empowerment of vulnerable groups, food security and enhancement of livelihood opportunity for the poorest of the poor, landless and marginalized section of the society.While working under this programme the organization has formalized 17 Gram Sabha by ensuring regular monthly meeting of the villagers, formed 70 SHGs of women with about 1109 members, Common Interest Groups of POPs to start IGA, Kisan Cub, Girls Club. Altogether 85 village level structures were constructed with ownership of the community. This include 126 Ponds, 52 irrigation canal, 10 village approach roaf, 2 drinking well etc. In the two years work about 180319 work days were created for the rural tribal men and women living in remote hilly terrains. It is a partnership which enabled the villagers to plan, implement and keep records of all expenses at village level. The program has also empowered farmers, women and weaker tribal communities to create demand at grassroots level. The concept of down to top planning was thus realized successfully. The organization is currently working on SCA to TSP program being supported by JTDS in 6 villages of east singhbhum district in jharkhand.
