A BRIEF HISTORY , , , Started in June 2003 with 20 students, 5 teachers & volunteers , Started Therapy center in 2006 free therapy for all disabled children in ponicherry , Number of beneficiaries for the therapy center till March 2009 - 104 children , Started Computer aided education in 2007 40 children have been trained to use computers independently , Started Early intervention center in June 2008 20 children in the age group of 0-6 yrs - of which 3 have been included into normal schools , Hydrotherapy started in August 2008 10 children are given this therapy , Vocational training was started in June 2003 with 10 children , now we run 4 courses of 10 children each coir, carpentry, embroidery & hand made paper products. , Coir mat weaving launched in June 2008 - 49 adults have been trained till May 2009 , Art Therapy & Mask therapy sessions for Autistic children started for 15 children in Feb 2009 , As on June 2009, The school has 114 children, 25 teachers, 3 thearpist, 4 assistants and 10 volunteers , , , PROPOSED NEW INITIATIVES FOR THE YEAR 2009 2010 , , Medical bank for epileptic children free supply of medicines for 50 children for a year , Sheltered workshop for women adult disabled Sustainable livelihood project , Mobile therapy van community based rehabilitation project , Improving health & nutrition level of 50 disabled children in the age of 0- 6 yrs multi vitamins, nutritional supplements, iron supplements etc.
