Saraswati Shikshan Mahila Mandal

Activities: , Saraswati Shikshan Mahila Mandal is a NGO running in a tribal and naxal area of Chandrapur and Gadchiroli since 1994. The institution works for women and girls, who are deserted and distressed such as unwed mothers,widows,ex-prisoners,HIV/AIDS affected,sex workers etc.We provide them with emotional and legal counseling, give them vocational training such as weaving on amber charkha, beauty parlour courses,typing,nursing,computer,fashion designing, montessary training, karate training by experts etc. Women caught in trafficking are sent to us by judiciary, we expertise in rehabilitating them. We organise legal awareness programs approx about 40-50 every year with the help of Hon Judges and Advocates. , Our achievements: , 1.President Adv Vijaya Bangde is honored with Ahilyabai Holkar Award by Hon Chief Minister of Maharashtra. , 2. NALSA has awarded us for the best performance in legal services. , 3.Best Services award by National Council of Women. , 4. Savitribai Phule Maharashtra government award for the Women Education. , 5. Sahayadri Doordarshan Award for the best services in Women Empowermet and upliftment.
