SANGEET NIKETAN

Sangeet Niketan was established with the aim of education and propagation of Classical Music and Kathak Dance on 01-01-1950 by Shri Gulab Rai, Sangeet Vachaspati at 2666, Ballimaran, Delhi - 110006. The second branch of Sangeet Niketan was started during the year 1990 at G-365 Preet Vihar, Delhi - 110092 the third branch of Sangeet Niketan was started during the year 1997 at Malviya Nagar, New Delhi - 110017. The head office was subsequently transferred at G - 365, Preet Vihar, Delhi - 110092 in the year 2012. Sangeet Niketan, Delhi was Affiliated with Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh (Chhattisgarh) During the year 1958. Since then, University Examinations are being conducted at Sangeet Niketan, Delhi every year. During the year 2015-16, 227 students were imparted education in Sangeet Niketan in various fields of Music i.e. Vocal Instrumental and Kathak Dance, out of which there were 31 boys and 196 girls. In the year 2015-16, University Examinations were held in February, 2016, in which 169 students appeared in the University Examinations of various classes. It is informed that out of 169 students, who appeared in the Examinations, 161 students have passed with flying colours. It is a matter of great pleasure that out of 161 passed students, most of them have secured First Division. , Sangeet Niketan celebrated its 65th Annual Function on the 31st January, 2016 at LTG Auditorium, New Delhi. More than four hundred members of audience attended and appreciated the performances. In the Function more than 150 students participated and took active part in the field of Vocal, Instrumental and Kathak Dance programmes. The function was very much appreciated by the Chief Guest Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Padma Vibhushan and the audience as well as by the press.
