One of the most active institutes of performing arts in Manipur the institute has been appreciated in and outside Manipur not only for its own compositions of traditional Manipuri dances of Raas Leela like Maharas Vasantaraas Divaraas Nityaraas Kunjaraas Lai haraoba and tribal dances but also for its creative compositions on contemporary thems Under the tutelage of its founder member M. Thoiba Singh and Pradhan Guru Smt. Lata Thounaojam who is also the first among the Manipuri female choreographers having recieved formal training in Choreography the institute has also earned a distinction for its compositions like Nachom on National Integration.
