Special features of the organization
Sambhav has been present among the tribal communities for almost more than 15 years, its relationship are not merely on activities or programs. Relationship is at friendship and neighborhood level. Over a period Sambhav has been successful in building strong trust based on mutual respect and partnership. Its interventions have been at individual, family and group levels for mobilization and collective decision making skills. , , A number of Groups and Committees have come in to existence where the stakeholders meet and plan for action. The organization makes sure that trainings, exposure are organized as per the needs of the groups. , , Community health activities like training of TBAs and community Health workers and assisting in implementation of PHC programs in the Block of Shivpuri,Ghatigaon and Pohri and Karahal for several years, Leprosy Eradication Project in Karahal with DANLEP , , Community Mobilization Through community mobilization of Sahariya women and men, it has been to address issues like land ownership, pressure generation on service providers for better services, women rights. , , Held innumerable exercises with PRI, Women Groups, stakeholders, DRDA, using PRA, FGD and family level discussions and surveys for appraisal and project planning in areas of poverty reduction, watershed, health and gender participation, Leprosy Elimination in Karahal (Sheopur), sanitation (Child and Environment Sanitation) , , Network of women SHGs all over the project, training and formation of new groups, helping SHGs to access the bank loans for micro enterprise. The number of SHGs would be around 1500. More than 80% of the groups are of tribal women. , , Rural poverty-Formation of groups, trainings, media advocacy, women empowerment, monitoring of PRI work by community, focusing on themes of education of girls, disability and collectives of artisans and marketing of MFP, implementing PACS in three blocks-Prithvipur, Raj Nagar and Talbehat. , , Sanitation-UN Habitat, UNICEF and Water Aid supported large initiatives at-Shivpuri, Gwalior Slums and Lalitpur, toilet construction through loans from SHG and laying sewer lines in Urban Slums, working on community managed water and toilets.
