Special features of the organization

Sakti formed in 1982 has helped poor women in villages and slums of Karnataka and villages in Tamilnadu access training to improve their, economic, health and educational status. Sakti organised eleven one year courses in community organisation to give training for underprivileged women and men improve the conditions of, their lives. Sakti pioneered gender sensitisation among Ngos and government since 1985. Sakti brought out a Gender Trainers manual in 2000 for use in training institutions.
