Rural Reconstruction Society(RRS) is a voluntary organization setup in 1983 to strengthen the creativity of grassroots innovators engaged in conserving biodiversity and developing eco -friendly solutions to local problems, based in Angallu a tinny village near Madanapalle of Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. RRS is devoted to empowering knowledge rich, economically poor people by adding value in their contemporary creativity as well as traditional knowledge. It supports the activities of the Self-help Groups (SHGs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), and networks to respect, recognize and reward creativity at grass roots. , The organization is working in about 275 villages with women s sanghams in 6 mandals of Chittoor Dist. The RRS is developing a working model for the people oriented participative development in the areas of food security, ecological agriculture, alternative education, creative and prevention of health education, women empowerment and human rights etc. One of its core programmes deals with prevention of surreptious spread of HIV/AIDS.
