R.K.Trust was promoted in July 2014 with the aim of comprehensive community development which includes education, health, women empowerment, Youth development, water and sanitation, environment. As a first step R.K. trust focused on women empowerment programmes. Women empowerment is very necessary to make the bright future of the family, society and country. Women need fresh and more capable environment so that they can take their own decisions in every area whether for themselves, family,society or country , , In the present scenario, lack of sanitation facility and lack of educational awareness is a serious issue that makes the life of women miserable.Hence R.K trust focusing on formation of self help groups sanitation, various awareness education programmes and skill development programmes. Skill development among rural women is the need of the hour,so as to make them confident, self reliant and to develop in them the ability to be a part of decision making at home and at society. , Skill training is particularly important for marginalised and vulnerable women to enable them to improve their income, employment and food security as well as improves nutrition and health. R.K.Trust is involving in providing such trainings with the support of Govt. polytechnic college under its community development through polytechnic programme, Canara bank Rural self employment training institute, Nehru Yuvak Kendra of Ministry of youth affairs and sports and Usha Internation company. , A majority of women who completed the training are self employed and gainfully employed else where.This has not only enabled them to self reliant but also improved their quality of life. , Usha Silai schools is a community based initiative of Usha international company with the aim of empowering village women to become entrepreneurs and teach sewing and stitiching within the precincts of their home. R.K.Trust identified 20 women who are widows, deserted, divorced women and provided 3 days advanced training in tailoring and provided guidance to start their own institution at their own home.12 women initiated these schools at their home and admitted 3 to 5 women in their schools. They are earning Rs. 3000/to 5000/- per month.
