Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) - established in 2001, promoted by PMT. PIMS - the only rural medical university in India, pioneered in socially meaningful, community oriented medical and allied health sciences education. , , PIMS attained the status of Deemed University in 2003 under section 3 of UGC Act 1956 of Govt of India. School of Nursing, Shevgaon 2008 , , The above constituent institutions of PIMS University, currently offers 6 Bachelor s (MBBS, BDS, BPhT, BSc (Nursing), BAMS, BSc (Med. Biotech)), 41 Master s degree and diploma (M.D/M.S, MDS, M.Ph.T, M.Sc (Nursing), MSc (Biotech), MBA (Bioscience Mgt.), MSc (Pre-clinical & Para-clinical) MSc (Public Health), MSW (Medical)), 20 Doctoral, and 11 diploma and certificate programs in medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, medical biotechnology, social medicine/health, bio-science management, ayurveda and other para-medical sciences. The PIMS University has three Campuses. Its main campus located in Loni village, has been developed as a self sufficient township with all modern amenities for supporting 3500 students, staff/faculty and their families, to live, work and study, on a 130 acre lush green, environmental friendly, pollution free atmosphere. The other two campuses are located in about 100 Kms away, at Sinner (Nashik District) for Bioscience Management and Shevgaon (Ahmednagar district) for Ayurved College & Nursing School. , ACHIEVEMENTS , The medical care, academic, research, and extension programs and projects implemented by Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences - Loni, has shown its sustainable impact, over a period of time, at local, state, national and international level in improving the health status of the people of rural and urban slums, providing well trained medical and para-medical man power to reduce the urban-rural gap, demystify medicine to bring positive behavioural changes for health promotion in the community at large and convincing people that health is their own hands . The health indicators like CBR (12.8 per 1000 population), CDR (4.1 per 1000 population), IMR (18 per 1000 live births), MMR (130 per 1 lakh live births), Institutional deliveries (85%) etc of the people of the remote rural, tribal and urban slum areas being served by the Model are far ahead of the District, State and National averages. The man power trained by the Model is well equipped and has been serving in both rural areas as well as super-specialty hospitals in metropolitan cities in India and abroad.
