Pragnarain Mook BadhirVidyalaya

Established in 1968,the Pragnarain in Mook Vidyalaya, began with humble beginnings, based on free imparting of primary education through lip-reading methods. No fees were charged,with and this still continues. From 1975 the Government of India began giving the society an annual grant which enabled the school greatly to increase its enrolment and employ larger staff. The Government also kindly gave our Society a building grant of Rs 13.50 lakh,which enable the School to add second storey and enlarge the ground storey of the school building,in 2001. , We cater to deaf children in Aligarh city,which has the population of over a million.Currently,we have 107 pupils and teach up to class VIII through 9 teachers/instructors. Last year all the ten children in Class VIII passed the Middle School examination of Basic Education Board. We also provide computer-training to help our pupils in getting better employment. teach tailoring and embroidery to girls and binding to the boys for the same purpose. , We have done our best to get as many deaf children educated as possible, paying special attention to girls who number 50 (fifty) in our present enrolment,while 21 belong to the Scheduled Castes. We have also a good proportion of minority children. We are proud that the bulk of our children come from the poorer strata
