MAJOR ACTIVITIES/ ACHIEVEMENTS , , Pragathi Charities has taken up challenging measures for running Special Schools for multiple disabled to cater the education needs of the Disabled Community under the provocation of the Government in Nellore District, Pragathi Charities has taken up the following programmes for the benefits of the disabled in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh state. , , 1) SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR MENTALLY RETARDED, WOOD COMPLEX, NELLORE : , , This school has grown up in several ways to meet the increasing case load and developed as a full-fledged school, Out of 150 beneficiaries 90 are hostlers the remaining 30 children are day scholars. The organization has recruited 27 members of staff as per staff pattern and guidelines from by Ministry of Social Justice, GOI during 2013-14. , , 2) SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR HEARING HANDICAPPED, NELLORE : , , There are 80 students in the school out of which 46 are Hostlers the remaining 26 children are day scholars. The organization has recruited 20 members of staff as per staff pattern and guidelines from by Ministry of Social Justice, GOI during 2013-14. , , RECOGNITION:- , , This organization has been registered under PWD act vide , , 1. Certificates of Recognition (No 2 of 2003) up to 18.08.2017. , , 2. Certificate of form B grant of Recognition (No 2 of 2003) up to 30.9.2015 by the Asst. Director welfare disabled and Sr. Citizens, SPSR, Nellore Dist. Dated 11.10.2012. , , 3. This Special School has been recognized by the State Government from 2003-04 from Ist to VIIth Class vide Rc.No.6226/A7/2009 dated 09-11-2009 of the District Educational Officer (FAC), Nellore and renewed the recognition vide DEO s RC NO.9470/B1/2012 dt. 06-07-2013. We are getting 100% results both in VII and X Classes every year. We are sending VIII to Xth Class students for the Examinations every year as Private candidates. Distribution of free Books: the Distinct Educational Officer Nellore, has supplied free N.T. Books to all the hearing unimpaired children s from 1st to 10th Class- every year , , 3) TRAINING PROGRAMMES (Human Resource Developments) :- , , 1) Special B. Ed. ( MR) :- , The another achievement under Man Power development is that we have started College of Special Education B. Ed. Mental Retardation from 2007-08 with 25 No. of students which is permitted by the RCI, New Delhi and affiliated by Sri Venkateswara University Tirupati and Vikram Simhapuri University Nellore. , , A Total 144 candidates are appeared for the Spl. B.Ed(MR) Course and passed 136 candidates successfully as detailed here under from 2007-08 to 2014-15. , , 95% candidates who passed Spl. B.Ed (MR) have got employment in Rajiv Vidya Mission in various Districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. , , 2) D.C.B.R. Course :- We have started Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation , Course during 2006-07 with 20 No s. But now it is discontinued. , , 3) Special D.Ed ( MR) Course: , This course started in August 2015 with the permission of Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi and affiliated to NIEPMD, Chennai. 25 Candidates appeared for the Examination in the month of June 2016 and waiting for Results. , 4) Special D.Ed ( HI) Course: , This course started in August 2016 with the permission of Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi and affiliated to AYJNIHH, Mumbai. 21 Candidates are admitted, during the academic year 2016-17.. , , 3) District Disabled Rehabilitation Resource Centre :- , , The Consulate general of JAPAN (Chennai) has caused Inspection of this Project during 2007 08 and sanctioned grant to the Project in 2009 10. We have started this District Disabled Rehabilitation Resource Centre (D.D.R.R.C.) with the support of JAPAN Consulate with an estimate of Rs.44 Lakhs for constructing 12 Rooms at Ambapuram Village, Nellore Mandal. The Consulate General of Japan, G.G.P. Unit, Chennai has released US Dollars 97,087 worth Rs.44 Lakhs and the Construction of these DRRC building has completed and inaugurated on 27.3.2013 by Masanori Nakano, consul consulate general of Japan at Chennai. Vocational trainings like candle Making, chalk piece Making, Tailoring, computer Education training etc. are started to the disabled.
