We introduce ourselves as the not for profit Public Charitable Trust set up solely for serving the needy people in the rural area. , As a first step we have set up an eye care hospital at Shiroor Village of Udupi Tq and Dist. Karnataka State. Our eye hospital has a floor area of about 8000sq feet spread over two floors with spacious well equipped consultation rooms out patient department, laboratory, 30 bed ward, spacious OT, optical and medicine dispensing counters etc.The setting up of this full-fledged eye care hospital costed us about Rs.3.00crore and we have sourced this fund from the trustees, patrons, family and extended family members and a couple of well-wishers. The hospital was inaugurated on 02/02/2014 and since then we are functioning by extending the following services to the needy people of the surrounding villages. , 1) Outpatient services and optical , 2) Inpatient and operation service , 3) Medical retina service , 4) Glaucoma service , 5) Outreach programmes , a) Screening for cataract operation , b) Diabetic retinopathy screening , c) School children screening , d) Eye health education and awareness programme , We would like to state that the entire package of service is totally free to the patients and their attendants. Our work has been appreciated by the District Health Department, Local Bodies, NGOS and above all by the beneficiaries. This has encouraged us to perform better in the days to come. Further, we are fortunate to have the services of Dr. Sundar Ram Shetty, a veteran in Eye Surgery who has so far performed over 1lakh cataract eye operations, as the chief surgeon at our Hospital.
