Special features of the organization

Grassroots has initiated holistic mountain development in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Meghalaya through community-driven programs. It has encouraged formation of SHGs andCBOs at the river basin level in order to renew hydrology and improve livelihoods. Grassroots has promoted a producers company with over 1500 women share holders with an annual turnover of Rs.160 lakhs. Grassroots has also trained more than 300 local youth as barefoot engineers to promote appropriate technologies.
