1. 15 acres of mangrove forest are regenerated through community based ecological mangrove restoration methods with Tamil Nadu Forest Department. , 2. Crab productivity is increased in the restored mangrove forest area, which is used by local fishers to catch mud crabs. , 3. 30,000 mangrove seedlings were planted in last four years through women self help groups , 4. 25,000 timber valued, avenue and fruit yielding tree seedlings were distributed to villages for free of cost , 5. 15 coastal schools have been organized for environmental education events, LCD presentations, mangrove ecology field trips in the last four years , 6. Ten Coastal cleanup programmes were conducted with students in the last four years. , 7. Rare, endemic and medicinal plants were planted in five village temples to protect their survival , 8. Six thousand tree seedlings were produced by student nursery programme in one year. , 9. Grassroot land use pattern map is being produced using GIS technology and donated to coastal village Panchayats.
