Om Drishti Trust runs the Suraj Eye Institute as a non profit foundation. We work in the area of control of blindness, education, public health and research. We have sustained our work since the Institute started and on a yearly basis about 40-50% of our work has been charitable for the rurala and urban slum communities. We are recognised for DNB in Ophthalmology. We have conducted two public health population based studies titled the Central India Eye and Medical Study and the Central India Childrens Eye Study. We are working in the field of Cataract, Diabetes, paediatric ophthalmology and retinopathy of prematurity for our community outreach. The Institute is a partner and collaborator for the Global Burden of Disease 2013 and 2015. There are now more than 70 publications in peer reviewed international journals. The Om Drishti Trust has now acquired land in Mihan for creating a Centre of Excellence in Eye care to serve the region of Central India. The Institute has excelled in eye research and community outreach and provided exceptional quality of eye care.
