Nutrition Foundation of India

Nutrition Foundation of India since its inception 1985 has been carrying out studies to find out magnitude and determinants of major nutritional problems especially in children , pregnant and lactating women. NFI has undertaken research studies to improve nutritional status of these vulnerable segments and suggest effective, feasible and cost effective interventions which can be implemented within the existing infrastructure and manpower constraints. , Indian Council of Medical Research has established and Advanced Center for Nutrition Research at NFI with mandate to undertake policy and operational research studies in nutrition . NFI is one of the institutions participating in the training of survey personnel and Hb estimation in Clinical Anthropometric and Biochemical component of Annual Health Survey. , NFi undertakes capacity building of human resources at all levels. NFI undertakes in service training of anganwadi workers,ANMS and lab technicians to improve quality of service delivery . NFI also undertakes training of MSc Home Science , MPH , MD community medicine and MD CHA students in public health nutrition through internship programmes. , Through its study circle lectures, symposia and workshops NFI tries to update knowledge of nutritionists and health professionals in recent advances in nutrition.
