Special features of the organization

National School for the Handicapped has been in the active service of the disabled people under the able management of Novelty Education Society, (Regd. Under Societies Registeration Act 1860), Ambala Cantt. , Our School National School for the Handicapped is registered under Section 52 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation Act, 1995.) We are working in an Inclusive Education Setup. , , We have the following accreditations: , , 1.We are also running Foundation Course on Education of Children with Disabilities a collaborative National Programme of (IGNOU) and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) , , 2.We are also conducting an Awareness cum- training Packages in Disability for the parents and family members of children with disabilities, a joint initiative of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). We also have a tele- conferencing facility (DRS) of IGNOU at our Resource cum- Office at Ambala Cantt. , , 3.We are running Study Centre for Diploma in Urdu conducted by National Council for promotion of Urdu Language under the Ministry of Human Development (Deptt. Of Secondary and Higher education) Govt. of India. , , 4.We have 3 accreditations of the National Institute of Open Schooling a premier educational body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Deptt. Of Education, Govt. of India namely: , , (a) Vocational Educational Programmes , , (b) Education Of Disadvantaged Children To cater to the needs of people with physical and mental disabilities, the socially and geographically isolated and disadvantaged sections such as street children, working children, rural women we are having an accreditated institution named Special Accreditated Institutions for Education of the Disadvantaged (SAIED). , , (c) Open Basic Education Programme Under the guidance of National Institute of Open Schooling we are running Open Basic Education (OBE) programme, as an alternative educational programme, equivalent to the Elementary Education Programme of the formal educational system.
