NEW MAHARASHTRA SHIKSHAN SANSTHA, TIKKEWADI , TAL: BHUARGAD, DIST :KOLHAPUR, PIN : 416209. , , , ABOUT US , , In 27 March 1996 taking reference from Mother Teresa, Karmveer Bhaurao Patil & Helen Keler Mr. Shivaji Rajaram Patil established New Maharashtra Shikshan Sanstha in rural area such as Bhudargud and Radhanagari Talukas and opening the door of free Education for Poor, Backword, Handicapped, Mentally Retarded & Orphan Children s. His wife Mrs. Akkatai Patil gave a very important support in this Social & Education Work. They started Tikkewadi Highschool for the Education of 103 Poor, Backward & Orphan Children s in 1999. After that in 4 march 2007 they started Jeevan Shikshan Matimand Vidyalay (Nivasi) for 55 Handicapped Mentally Retarded Children s. Mr. Patil made his house as a hostel with free facilities for Mentally Retarded Children s. Mentally Retarded Children s are probably one of the most neglected sections of society. It is the first of its kind of School in Bhudargad Taluka. They were united in their belief that given proper guidance & training, their children can maximize their potential & integrate themselves with society in general. All the activities are conducted under the guidance of special educators. In this way that organizations try to work in the field of social & education.
