The basic aims and objectives of the Nechung Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies are as follows Mainly to preserve and promote the Buddhist tradition which has been preserved in its purest form during the last thousand years of rigorous studies and practice This pure tradition of the Nalanda University has been almost lost in this universe and thanks to the isolation of Tibet up until now which the world is bereft of in this century it could have been preserved.
