MANEDA had been working in the Northern Terrain Hills of Manipur for the Rural Tribal Society in two blocks , Tadubi block and Kangpokpi block since its inception with commitment to fulfill its Vision and Mission. Livelihood programme for the families living below the poverty line was undertaken in two blocks in Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Agriculture. The programme created a very good impact where more than 500 families were beniffited from it. Peace Promotion Programme was also undertaken during and post ethnic clashes of the Naga and Kuki tribe which resulted a good outcome. Vocational training in cane and bamboo was also undertaken where more than 200 youths were benefitted from it.Vocational Training in weaving, tailoring and carpentry is being conducted periodically as when availaible rsourrces.Community Based Rehabilitation Programme was undertaken for the first time in the district where the rural tribal mass where being sensitized on disability issue, rights and entitlements from the government of india.Understanding disability activities had been carried out for the last 7 years.SHG and DPOs is form to work for the rights and issues pertaining to disabled for the whole of district.Children with different ability is also supported in their stuidies and medical treatment. A small Rahabilitation Centre was set up in our office premise which is working for the children pre-schooling and ADLs.Women whom are still being treated as inferior in the rural tribal society isbeing address and women are supported through formation of SHG and support in micro-credit.Children issues and child traficcking is keep vigilance by MANEDA for the district and the Juvenile Justice Home is being run by us.
