MANIPUR DRAMATIC UNION

The Major activities of this Union is only Theatre/Drama works only. The Union is running Drama Training Institute (DTI) specially on Make-up course since 1985 which is produced many make-up artist in the state. The Union is also running a Yoga class since 1997. As this Union is the oldest theatre organization in the state many artists had been come up their career from this Union. Above all this Union organized number of workshops, seminars and symposium especially in theatre and drama from time to time. , This Union had won many Best production awards at National and State Level Drama Festivals/competitions. Some them are as mentioned below : (1) Haorang Leishang Saphabee at National Drama Festival, Delhi -1954; (2) Ningol Chapter One in All Manipur Drama Festival -1955; (3) Kege Lamja at All Manipur Folk Drama Festival-1958; (4) Alexander in All Manipur Drama Festival -1964; (5) Meitei Khunggang in All Manipur Drama Competition - 1969; (6) Chooti in All Manipur Drama Festival - 1975; (7) Harichandra Vs Viswamitra in All India Short Play competition, Allahabad - 1985; (8)Lamkhei Wathok in All Manipur Short Play Competition -1989 and in All India short play competition, Allahabad-1990; (9) Shinnaidabini Nungdi Sanarembi at All Manipur Short Play competition-1994 and at All India short play competition, Allahabad -1995; (10) Kakkhraba Kokyam at All India short play competition, Munger, Bihar, 1997; (11) Hingminnashi at All Manipur short play competition 1998 and All India short play competition 1999; (12) Meekap Thoklo at All India short play competition, 2000 and All India short play competition, Allahabad 2001; (13) Ima at All Manipur Short play competition 2005. etc
