1)Conducting sensitization programs for the parents of mentally retarded children. , 2)Started a Vocational traing centre for mentally retarded persons in a village Karkamb, Tal Pandharpur, Dist.Solapur,Maharashtra where these persons are trained to work to fulfill local needs and thus helped to earn their living as much as possible. , 3) Facilitation of workshops for parents of disabled children with an objective to enable them to handle various information sources for bringing up their special children specially about various government schemes for disabled persons and the process of getting disability certificates, , 4) Conducting counselling sessions for effective early inervantion programe of upbringing Downs children. , 5)To co-ordinate with medical autharities for facilitating timely and proper medical help for mentally retarded children in rural area. , 6) Publication of various types of material for the sensitization of parents of menally retareded children as well as society. , 7)Conducting research programes to identify the educational and social needs of the parents of mentally retarded children with the participation of social work college students. , 8)Looking forward to startup a model community home for Downs where these special friends will work, enjoy and live together in an extended family. , * Recently the book Maryandanchya Anganat Vadhatana was awarded by Granthottejak Mandalee,Pune which is founded by Mahadev Govind Ranade and Lokamanya Tilak specially for promoting the excellent writings.
