Special features of the organization

Mahila Janshakti Sangathan was formed in 2001 by a group of very dedicated and dynamic young people and stated working in the remote rural areas of Bokaro district. Our main focus is socio- economic development of poor people with special focus on empowerment of rural poor women. Till date we have formed 174 SHGs with assistance from DRDA, Bokaro and NABARD, Ranchi. We have conducted many training programmes on tailoring, dressmaking, mushroom, prickle making, computer, etc. we have also conducted awareness programmes, workshops and seminars on safe drinking water, sanitation, environment, adult education and RCH. In 2006-07 we have started working for agriculture and allied sector and conducted training on modern agriculture practices, dairy, fishery, poultry and organic farming. We have promoted two organic villages with support from NABARD, Ranchi and District Administration, Bokaro. We have also conducted Skill up-gradation training programme on Bamboo diversified product ( for SC & ST families) and dairy product. Recently we have organised 26 villagers in Chas block to form Dairy cooperative with credit support of 16 lakhs from Bank of India. We are also facilitated formation of Farmers Clubs in Bokaro District and in 2008-09 we got the State level Award from NABARD for Farmers Club. We have conducted programmes with SAIL (Bokaro Steel Plant) in their adopted villages on livelihood programme and SHG promotion. We are organizing programme with partnership of NABARD, DRDA, NEAC, State Social Welfare Board, Agriculture Department, Krishi Vigjayan Kendra (ICAR) and other Doner agency. We also maintaing very good rapport with the Govt Departmants, Banks and other stake-holders of rural development. We are commited to the upliftment of poor and socially backward people of our country.
