MAHILA DAKSHATA SAMITI DELHI

The concept of family counselling was first introduced by Mahila Dakshata Samiti(MDS), in fact India first counselling centre was set up by Mahila Dakshata Samiti. Presently two FCC is running in Delhi from last more than 30 yrs 2. It was at the behest of MDS that various laws have been amended or formed from time to time for the protection of women including the dowry amendment bill, Rape bill,Prevention of women Feticide, Domestic violence bill, Sati Prohibition bill and mow the demand for 33% reservation for women etc. 3. The Samiti has played a vital role in building the women movement in india through its branches all over india and abroad. 4. Consumer movement was started by MDS. 5. The idea of family courts was started by mds. 6.the short stay home in Delhi,Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are running very well and are appreciated by visitors. 7. The MDS strives to work towards the implementation of UN charter of Human Rights and has been given the ECOSOC status
