KORAPUT FARMERS ASSOCIATION

1. For implementation of Forestry Sector Development Project in Lamtaput and Nandapur, we worked with 98 Vana Samrakhyana Samities. The VSSs were promoted and capacitated by us to restore, generate and protect the village forest. , 2. We have been working with 31 Village Development Committees (VDCs) for ensuring rights and entitlements under various schemes of both State and Central Government. These VDCs were promoted to act as a catalyst for good governance and social justice. , 3. We are also working with 21 Disable People s Organisation in Lamtaput Block covering 7 Gram Panchayats. The DPOs are advocating with government line departments for rights and entitlements. , 4. We are working directly with 117 SHGs being promoted by us covering 9 GPs of Lamtaput Block towards promoting income generating activities and plans. , 5. We have also promoted one Micro-Hydro Power Committee, which is looking after day to day running, repairing and maintaining the MHP installed in their village. , , We have successfully rehabilitated 2 Micro Hydro power plants with 50 KW production capacity in Semiliguda block of the district. , , Successfully implemented the Child reporters process in Koraput district with a coverage of 650 schools across all 14 blocks, which has been later on adopted by department of School and Mass Education, government of Odisha. , , successfully demonstrated the Line sowing and line transplanting of Paddy and Ragi (major staple food of tribal communities) in Lamtaput block and Koraput block. , , Developed entrepreneurs in for running of 2 enterprise units in MHP villages to run and manage the rice hawler, floor mill and turmeric processing units for sustainability of MHPs. , , Successfully completed the demonstration of 4000 hectors of finger millet programme in partnership with Agricultural Technology and Management Agency (ATMA)
