Jayalalitha for the valuable service rendered by Karunalaya Social Service Society in rehabilitating the tsunami affected people of Chennai District for facilitating the construction of safe and improved semi permanent houses at Ernavoor in the year 2005. , National Child Labour Project best teacher award by the worshipful Mayor of Chennai for the best performance in 2010. , Karunalaya had the Honour of being invited to bring Team India to the Street Child World Cup in Brazil, 2014, a Street Children from Karunalaya participated Street Child World Cup in Brazil 2014 and won FAIR PLAY Award. , Five street children represented Team India and participated in street child games 2016 at Rio, Brazil. Hepsiba a 15 year old girl from Kannaparthidal won Gold medal in 100 meters, Silver medal in 400 meters and Bronze medal in 110 meter hurdles. Our shelter home boy Ashok won bronze medal in shot put. Usha a girl from barrack road expressed the ordeals faced by street children in India while participating in street child congress held at Rio. , Our Director Dr. N. Paul Sunder Singh was presented an award of appreciation for his highly praise worthy effort to strengthen ties between India and SriLanka through activities that promote the well-being of the younger generation by the Children Skill Development Programme, Srilanka. , Dr. N. Paul Sunder Singh, Secretary of Karunalaya received the Prof. M. Vishwanathan Outstanding Social Service Award 2015, for the rescue and rehabilitating of Street children Chennai an award was given by MV Hospital for Diabetes, Royapuram. , Sr. Rita Thyvettil memorial award for best women group and Children s Club of Karunalaya towards committed service in eradicated of Child labour in 2002. , Sr. Rita Thyvettil memorial award for best Children s Club of Karunalaya towards committed service in eradicated of Child labour in 2003. , STD,HIV/AIDS intervention among street children from 2002 to 2007. Targeted intervention among FSW from 2008 to 2016. Referred around 1000 FSWs to undergo testing and treatment for STI, HIV/ AIDS. , 350 cases were referred to Karunalaya Family Counselling Centre in which cases of Domestic Violence, Child Sexual Abuse, Child Marriage, Alcohol and Drug Abuse are addressed. , 1500 runaway children have been reintegrated with their parents after tracing their families. , 302 SHGs formed and facilitated credit linkage with Banks through Tamil Nadu Women Development Corporation
