Special features of the organization
On the 13th of November, 1916 a pioneering effort began that changed the educational landscape of North Karnataka. This was the day the first institution of the KLE Society was established. From humble beginnings rooted in the sacrifice of its founders, the Society now runs over 254 institutions across Karnataka, parts of Maharashtra ranging from kindergarten to post-doctoral research. The underlying philosophy being to encourage individual learning that would transform society. , Currently over 1.25,000 students are pursuing their academic dreams in these institutions that impart quality education in areas ranging from School Education Collegiate, Doctoral and Post-doctoral studies in Health Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering, IT, Law, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Management to conventional education in Arts, Science & Commerce. They are inspired by over 16000 accomplished and highly qualified faculty. , The UGC accorded Deemed University status to KLE Society s J N Medical College, Belagavi and other health science institutions in recognition of the excellent academic standards. The KLE University established in 2006 with eight constituent colleges in the disciplines of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Ayurveda has been reaccredited at the A level by NAAC for second cycle of five years in 2016. , The KLE University s Research Foundation has forged successful collaborations and alliances with 6 National, 14 International Agencies and 19 International Universities from USA, Canada, UK, Europe and South Africa, prominent among them being World Health Organization, National Institutes of Health, USA and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. , In the health sciences domain KLE has signed an MOU with University Sains Malaysia,Penang, to run USM-KLE International Medical Program. Running for past six years at Belagavi currently it has around 500 students on its rolls. , KLE Technological University established at Hubballi in 2015 is partnering the Make in India . , The KLE Society s successful foray into healthcare began with the 2400 beds Dr. Prabhakar Kore Super Speciality Hospital and Research Centre at Belagavi and has now expanded to 4000+ beds medical facilities especially for rural masses. This includes 500 beds Centenary Charitable Hospital, 200 Beds Cancer Hospital 300 Beds Ayurved Hospital, 1700 charitable beds, 60 beds ICU at Chikodi and Rural & urban Primary Health Centres under PPP scheme of Govt. of Karnataka. KLE is the largest private contributor in the region. The health institutions also conduct Free Health Camps across Karnataka and South Maharashtra. , Welfare of the farming community is central to the KLE vision . Besides providing educational opportunities to the farming folk KLE also equips farmers for innovative farming practices and adoption of technology through activities of the KLE Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mattikopp, Belagavi. , Swashakti the women empowerment cell of KLE University and Family Counselling Centre at Ankola provide vital interventions for the benefit of society at large. KLE VenuDhwani-90.4 FM Belagavi and KLE Dhwani 90.4 FM Hubballi play vital role in disseminating information on health, education and local folklore and culture. , Having completed 100 years of service to society, the organization has been instrumental in transforming the educational and healthcare landscape in the region and beyond.
