Special features of the organization
JANASPANDANA TRUST , , Janaspandana Trust, established in 2009, is a non-governmental organization. It was set up in Shikaripura, a taluk head quarter in Shimoga district Karnataka state. , It was started with a motive of creating and enhancing awareness on various social aspects of society among rural and urban population. The trust is actively involved in providing nursery level education to small children at various villages. The organization has started movement against female infanticide and educated the mass about dangers of such practices. To give imputes to the skills of rural youths the trust conducts job oriented training camps and personality development programmes. The trust is actively involved in training women in skills which help them become self reliant. The trust also works in the field of child labour. It has created awareness about child right and highlighted the problems and ill effects of child labour in various villages of the taluk. To safe guard the local culture, the trust actively involved in development of local art and drama culture by educating the villagers and taking them into confidence the trust conducted several cultural events. The trust knows the power of knowledge. Hence it has opened a library Jnana Spandana .
